The annual Gloucester Democratic City Committee MLK Day of Service was a resounding success! Thanks to our volunteers and generous donors, we were able to collect 1,578 pounds of food for The Open Door. Special thanks to Mary Kingsley, our Public Service Committee Chair, for her dedication in making this important yearly event fun and fulfilling for all.

Let’s Go Out to the Movies!

As we soldier on through this bleak midwinter, the GDCC has teamed up with the Cape Ann Community Cinema to host a movie night! Come hang out with us as we talk a little bit about who we are and what we do as a committee and watch a film with us. We will be showing the 1940 fast-talking-rom-com His Girl Friday as our feature film plus a few surprises mixed in.

While you’re at it, check out the Cape Ann Community Cinema. Owner Rob Newton has done a fantastic job with the space above the old Rockport IGA, and there’s always something new and interesting to watch there!

When: February 20, 7pm
Where:Cape Ann Community Cinema, 37 Whistlestop Mall, 2nd Floor, Rockport
