Demonstration in favor of Health Care reform
On Saturday, Sept. 12, a hastily convened group of Democrats organized by Rich Sagall and Jerry Goulart turned out in a blinding rainstorm on the boulevard to show their support for President Obama's health care proposals in the face of a so-called "Tea Party" staged by radical anti-tax activist Barbara Anderson and Republican Congressional candidate Bill Hudak. An unscientific gauging of public option (based on relative numbers of supportive horn toots by passing drivers) gave the hardy supporters of health care reform a decided edge. Photo below shows some of the rain soaked but undaunted demonstrators.
