Democrats hold a cleanup day
Gloucester neighborhoods and parks got spruced up on Aug.22, thanks to a score of volunteers who picked up trash and litter in much of the downtown area. This initiative was organized by the Public Service Committee of the Gloucester City Democratic City Committee.
Among the areas cleaned up were Gloucester High School, Emerson Avenue, Stage Fort Park, and neighborhoods around both Centennial and Maplewood Avenues. Earlier this year the group pitched in on food collection for the Open Door and safe disposal of unused prescriptions.
To learn more about upcoming public service projects, citizens are encouraged to attend the next meeting of the Gloucester Democratic City Committee, Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 pm, at the Gloucester House Restaurant. |
